Vantage Systems, a U.S. Space Program-focused, ISO 9001:2015 certified, and AS9100 compliant company, has a remarkable 30-year history of providing multidisciplinary engineering, information technology, and program support. With deep ties to the Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC), Vantage Systems’ achievements extend to high-profile U.S. Space missions like JWST, JPSS, Roman Space Telescope, PACE, MMS, and SDO. The company’s expertise is underscored by seven consecutive “Exceptional” CPAR ratings in management, quality, schedule, and cost control for GESS-3, showcasing their commitment to excellence.
Navigating Complexity:
As the managing partner of Vantage Systems Joint Venture and a key player in the NASA/GSFC SES III, GEARS, and ESES IV procurements, Vantage Systems faced the challenge of integrating joint ventures, subcontracting, and outsourced manufacturing. Maintaining exceptional performance across these diverse areas demanded streamlined communication, cost control, and meticulous compliance with NASA’s stringent standards.
Key Achievements:
Vantage Systems’ program management success is evident through optimizing business processes and financial management. With a contract-to-date variance of approximately -4%, they have consistently controlled costs while delivering exceptional performance. Through the implementation of an ISO 9001/AS9100 compliant Quality Management System (QMS), Vantage Systems ensures the highest standards are met. Their average labor rate increase remained below 1% annually, well below bid escalation.
Vantage Systems’ open and transparent communication approach has fostered exceptional relationships with the GESS-3 Contract Management Team), the Contracting Officer, the Contracting Officer’s Representative, and other stakeholders. Regular meetings with the stakeholders, comprehensive agendas, and rapid response mechanisms have resulted in effective communication, fewer surprises, and rapid issue resolution. This is highlighted in the GESS-3 CPAR: “Communications… is honest, informative, timely, and professional.”
Vantage Systems consistently delivers contractually required and additional reports, providing stakeholders with accurate insights and maintaining compliance with regulations, codes, and reporting requirements. Implementing Innovation:
Vantage’s innovation shines in its scheduling expertise. They excel in developing best scheduling practices, integrating multi-center project schedules, and implementing scheduling tools. This commitment is recognized with a NASA Exceptional Public Achievement Medal for one of their project schedulers. By integrating diverse schedule formats into a centralized master scheduling database, Vantage ensures efficient resource utilization and project coordination.
